Alright — here’s the deal.
This week, I’m asking for your input. Mainly for the boutique, but honestly, if you’ve got thoughts on the salon side too, I’m always open to hearing them. If you’ve ever sat in my chair, you already know — some days we talk, some days we don’t, and both are totally fine.
When it comes to the boutique, I really love having pieces on hand for you to come in, try on, and actually get a feel for. Being able to see it, touch it, and try it on in real life makes a huge difference — especially when you have an event coming up and need something to work now, not weeks from now.
Pre-orders can be fun and definitely make certain styles feel more accessible, but the timing can be tricky. You don’t always know exactly when something will arrive, and waiting two, three, or even four weeks isn’t always realistic.
Having items in stock also lets me try pieces on myself, model them, and show you how they actually fit and move on a real body — especially since you already know what I look like. That takes a lot of the guesswork out of shopping and helps both of us make better decisions.
Which brings me back to why I’m asking for your input.
Buying for the boutique is fun, but it is complicated — not because I don’t know what I’m doing, but because my style isn’t everyone’s style, and that matters.
I might love something… and you might be thinking absolutely not.
A perfect example is DIFF eyewear. I love the brand, but aviators? Not for me. Meanwhile, some of you look amazing in them. I’m not a big floral person, but I know plenty of you are. Some people love leopard, some won’t touch it. Some people want low-rise jeans, I’ll always choose high-rise.
So instead of guessing, I created a quick form I’d love for you to fill out. It helps me understand what you actually want to see more of in the boutique — styles, fits, colors, price points, all the things that matter when I’m placing orders.
(The form is linked at the bottom of the page.)
And if you fill it out and still have something to say — leave a comment on this blog.
And yes, there’s a giveaway. Everyone who fills out the form will be entered to win a $25 gift card that can be used for either the boutique or the salon — even towards a service.
Just to be clear: the survey is anonymous, and the only time I’ll use an email is to contact the one gift card winner. Nothing else is shared or posted.
Now let’s talk trends — because spring and summer are coming in hot.
Color-wise, I’m seeing a lot of pastels. Personally? Not my favorite — so if you love them, tell me. Yellow is also having a moment, especially butter yellow. I guess prove me wrong and show up in a yellow gown looking like Andie Anderson from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
What I am loving is neutrals — especially mocha brown. Give me that all day. (Honestly, I’m already thinking about fall.)
I also love checkered prints (yes, Dylan… racing, duh), animal print, fringe, shiny textures, and sheer pieces. We love a little bling. But I also know some of that can tip into “fashion moment” territory instead of everyday wear — and that’s where I really want your input.
Summer brings a whole new set of questions.
Graphic tees, for example. Everyone and their dog makes graphic tees now. So the real question is — do you actually want them from me?
I do offer graphic tees, but they’re made to order rather than something I keep stocked in the boutique. That means you can still shop them through me — they’re just shipped directly to you instead of being grab-and-go in store. Some people love that setup, some don’t — and that feedback helps me decide how much I lean into that category.
Then there’s denim shorts. What length are we wearing? Are we letting the booty hang out? Distressed or clean? Are statement shorts like animal print something you’d actually wear, or are classics more your thing?
Same goes for skirts — mini, midi, longer? And tops and dresses… do we like big shoulders and balloon sleeves, or are we trying to keep our arms covered? Crop tops — love them or hate them?
Accessories matter too. Jewelry — simple and everyday or bold statement pieces? I’m seeing a lot of stacked and chunky necklaces, bracelets, rings on basically every finger, and lots of gold. And hats… are we still wearing them? Is the trucker hat still a thing, or are we officially done? (Because I honestly want one to wear to the races that says “Sounds like my husband’s problem.”)
Western wear is another category I go back and forth on. I’m not talking full turquoise, head-to-toe cowgirl costume — but a good pair of cowgirl boots? Yes. Something that makes you feel like you could casually end up at a Morgan Wallen concert and not question your outfit? Also yes. Do you want more western-inspired pieces, or is that just not your thing?
And then there’s athleisure — because that’s a whole thing too.
Are we all defaulting to Lululemon or Nike? Do we have a legging brand we swear by? Or are we all still searching for the pair? I’ll be honest — I own two pairs of Lululemon leggings, and both of them have holes in them. Meanwhile, I still have my very first pair of Salty Honey leggings, and I wear them all the time.
But maybe that’s just me.
Do you want more athleisure options in the boutique? Matching sets? Workout pieces you can actually wear outside the gym? Or is athleisure something you already have covered?
If this is something people are genuinely interested in, I’d absolutely consider bringing Salty Honey into the boutique — but only if it makes sense for you. If you’re curious and want to try them, you can use my code Lyndsey15 for 15% off. No pressure — just an option. www.saltyhoney.co
I’ve also gone back and forth on men’s items. Should I be bringing in more for men? We’ve tried things like Burlebo, and then suddenly everyone around started carrying it. So the question is — do you actually want to shop men’s pieces here? Golf polos? Casual everyday wear? Or is that something you already have your go-to spots for?
All of these little details add up when I’m deciding what to bring in.
So this blog is really just me being honest and saying: I want to stock pieces you’ll actually wear, not just what’s trending on Instagram or what I personally love.
The form linked below helps me do exactly that. It’s quick, it’s easy, and it genuinely helps me make better buying decisions for the boutique.
Thanks for helping me curate this space — and thanks for keeping it fun with me.
